A powerful stand agains the silent epidemic of gender-based violence. In Zimbabwe, where nearly one of every three women faces physical or sexual abuse. Safety is not a guarantee but a daily crisis. This campaign is a commitment to protect, support, and uplift women and girls.
The Hidden Crisis
Where fear is louder than justice women live under the shadows of violence - not in war zones, but in homes, schools and workplaces. The fear of being blamed or dismissed makes seeking justice harder than enduring the harm itself. There is no safe, anonymous, or accessible way to report abuse, seek support, or understand available options.
A Place to Heal, A Path to Rise
At the heart of our mission are Women's Safety Centres. Safe, supportive spaces where survivors can access trauma counselling, legal aid, shelter and the resources needed to reclaim their power. We will also work to establish specialised police units trained to handle GBV cases with sensitivity, urgency, and respect. Survivors will no longe be met with scepticism but with care, action and belief.
We are developing technology enabled GBV support tools designed to teach individuals in vulnerable situations with speed, safety, and confidentiality. Additionally we believe prevention is the best cure but this requires changing the culture before the crisis occurs. In hopes of battling this we will deliver education programmes on consent, healthy relationships and digital safety as well as awareness campaigns to both men and women.
Conclusion
At One Foundation, we believe a safer society is a more just one. Through the Shield Her campaign we are not only responding to violence, we are building a future where it is no longer tolerated.
