Rewriting destinies

The Foundation began with four young dreamers who shared one bold conviction: that real change starts with action. Born not from privilege but from purpose, our foundation was built on a deep desire to rewrite the stories of those trapped in cycles of poverty, inequality, and violence.

We witnessed the realities of many communities across Zimbabwe: children learning under trees with no electricity or internet, schools without resources or infrastructure, communities with no access to diagnostics or healthcare, families facing hunger without tools to address it sustainably, women and girls suffering in silence, their pain unseen, their voices unheard.

For young people, these realities are visible every day. And yet, despite understanding the problems with unique proximity and creativity, youth are consistently underestimated, excluded from decision-making, and told to wait.

Our Vision and Mission

One Foundation exists to mobilise young people and communities to create sustainable, technology-driven impact through intelligent education infrastructure, innovative healthcare solutions, smart food security systems, GBV prevention technology, and community service initiatives that restore dignity, opportunity, and access for those who need it most. Our mission is not just to provide relief but to build permanent, sustainable solutions to what society often treats as temporary problems. Every initiative we design is shaped by empathy, guided by innovation, and driven by a vision for lasting impact.

More than anything, One Foundation is a movement of young minds. We are redefining what leadership looks like in Africa — bold, compassionate, and unapologetically community-orientated. We believe in equipping the next generation with tools to thrive academically, socially, and financially in order to reclaim their narratives and forge new ones.

The One Percent

The One Percent, as we have reclaimed it, is not a ceiling. It is a starting point. It is the recognition that transformation often begins in the margins; with one person, one community, one act of defiance against the idea that the future is not ours to shape. It represents the collective power of individuals who refuse to be defined by the small space they were handed, and who instead contribute what they have whether it's their time, creativity, knowledge, code, voice, or presence all towards something whole.

The One Percent is both a support network and a philosophy. It powers the foundation’s mission with the understanding that when a generation that has been pushed to the edges chooses to unite, nothing about the future remains out of reach.
